QUESTIONS ABOUT SOURCING & PROCUREMENT
Do you work with suppliers we already use?
Yes. Audits and inspections can be booked as standalone services for suppliers your company already uses, including when you already import without any production oversight.
How do you vet a supplier?
We check registration, capacity, track record, certifications and export history. When the operation calls for it, we also run credit checks and supplier and social compliance audits.
Do you carry out audits required by major retailers?
Yes. The SMETA audit follows the Sedex standard, required by major brands and retail chains, and the social compliance audit follows international standards.
How does inspection work?
During production, at 30% to 70% complete, and before shipment, with AQL sampling and checks on dimensions, weight, finish, function and packaging. On-site inspections are usually booked 48 to 72 hours in advance.
Do you develop products under our own brand?
Yes. Supplier search, brand development, production and import. Certification is specific to each model, product and brand.
Does our team need to travel to China?
No. Awk is your team on the ground in China, working in the same time zone as your suppliers.
Do you only work with China?
Our main expertise is in China, but we also support operations from other origins, tailored to each case.
